Making Money in Retirement

If you’re thinking about making money in retirement, join the club. I’ve loved being retired, but there are times when I can get a bit antsy, wanting to work on something worthwhile. Hobbies are nice, and I have those. But wouldn’t it be great to be able to actually turn those interests into a money-maker?

Keep reading and I can show you how I turned a fun hobby into a regular source of significant income, with just a few hours a week (and sometimes none!)

Many people see retirement as the time to get out and start traveling. We sure did. Ireland, Mexico, Turkey, cruises to Alaska and the Panama Canal. It’s the time you dream about having, and we have enjoyed every minute of it.

At the same time, I knew that we had excess inventory on our timeshares, and that we should be working to capitalize on that, rather than just letting them sit idle. I’d tried renting them out on various commercial sites like Redweek or VRBO, with no success. I figured that’s just the way things worked.

Until one day, as I was poking around on the internet, I came across some websites that talked about Making Money in Retirement.

I was a Chief Financial Officer for 20 years, so I can smell a scam from a mile away. And wading through these websites set off alarm bells 90% of the time. Huge, all-caps banners, promising hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, all for doing nothing! Yeah, sure. Next

But after checking out a dozen or so, I did come across one that seemed legit. It’s called Wealthy Affiliate. At the time, they were offering a free trial, and said that if you followed the training, you’d have a website up and running as quickly as you could follow the instructions.

Honestly, I bookmarked it and set it aside. I figured, if it’s legit, it will still be there when I get back. And, a few months later after I’d mulled it over and checked out some other opportunities, I went back to Wealthy Affiliate and signed up for the free trial.

The offer I saw looked a lot like this:

Why Wealthy Affiliate?

What I liked about Wealthy Affiliate over many of the other sites is that they were honest with what you get for free, and what you get access to if you become a paying member. A lot of the other sites claimed to be free altogether, but the minute you signed up, you’d get bombarded with all these extra fees you had to pay in order to make “real money”. That just seemed really shady to me.

But with Wealthy Affiliate, the thing I wanted most to try was the Beginner Training Course and the Free Website.

After signing up, I found I had immediate access to the Beginner’s Training, with a few emails telling me how to work through it, how long it might take, and an occasional encouraging note to keep going. Nothing terribly intrusive like the other sites.

I started at Step 1 and worked through the lesson. There were videos that guided me through every step, as well as through text instructions. I did get bogged up a few times, but I was able to ask a question and got immediate answers from other members on the site.

After the first three lessons, I had a website up and running! It was rather small and pathetic, but it was live and it was mine! And I hadn’t paid a thing.

I Am Making Money in Retirement With Wealthy Affiliate Training

I kept working through, updating things as I learned more. I can’t say it was simple, but I can say it wasn’t nearly as difficult and mysterious as I’d imagined. Once you see what it looks like “under the hood” of a website, a lot of things become much clearer and you know how to avoid making mistakes.

Once I’d made it through all the lessons, I felt very comfortable with the idea that making money in retirement was a real possibility! I could do this!

That was some four years ago. Now I run two busy websites, Cowboy Concierge and Baking Naturally, and starting two more. I work on my sites only a portion of a week, and for the three months of the year that I’m in Mexico, not at all. And I still made about $14,000 in extra cash last year.

I’ll be talking more later about how it all happened, because it’s a rather long story (but to give you an idea, here’s an article that describes a typical day working on my websites). But the bottom line is that none of it would have happened without the training and support I’ve gotten through Wealthy Affiliate.

Check Out Wealthy Affiliate Now – There’s No Obligation

Remember when I said I bookmarked the site and came back to it later after mulling it over? Now I wish I’d just gone ahead and done it right away. There is no better training or support out there, period. So go ahead, click on the banner below and it will take you to Wealthy Affiliate where you can sign up for your free trial now.

I know that Wealthy Affiliate is the real deal, in part because they don’t claim that it’s easy! It’s work to build a successful site. If you want to make more money than I am, it takes a lot more work. They don’t make any claims to the contrary. But if you want to turn an interest into money, they can help you make that happen, quickly, and with a lot fewer mistakes!

Give it a try. It’s free, and whatever you learn today you get to keep forever.
