Supplement Your Retirement Income

If you’re like me, there are times when you’d love to be able to supplement your retirement a bit. An extra $1,000 a month would go a long way toward paying for that great vacation you keep reading about, or buying a new car to replace your old beater, or keeping you stocked with supplies for your hobbies.

So, you search around for ideas. Perhaps a part-time job, or getting a booth at a Farmer’s Market. Once I even took a training in Lyft to become a driver! But after a good Colorado snowstorm, I dropped that idea altogether.

The problem is, supplementing your income in these ways defeats the entire purpose of retiring! The thought of taking a part-time job making peanuts just didn’t sound terribly appealing.

That’s why, a few years ago, I started searching the internet for training on starting a website. I’d heard you could work from home, on your own time, making money by sharing your expertise! I love to bake, so I though perhaps I could start a blog on baking tips and recipes. As a part of it, I could sell cookbooks or supplies and make a little dough.

The problem, of course . . . I had no idea how to even begin! Though I’d worked with computers throughout my career as a CFO, I’d never looked into what it takes to maintain a website. Luckily, I stumbled upon the best training site of all: Wealthy Affiliate.

To be sure, there are dozens of organizations out there who may be able to provide you with some good training, but I can tell you that without Wealthy Affiliate, I would not be running 3 websites, making over $15,000 per year in supplemental income.

What makes Wealthy Affiliate different?

In my searching, I found that Wealthy Affiliate stood out among the rest. First, they offered me a free, foundational training that took me from a complete novice to operating a fully functional website in just a few days. With step-by-step training, videos, and community support for questions, I was able to get Baking Naturally up and running, and indexed in Google.

But more than that, Wealthy Affiliate helped steer me down the right path. Remember, the goal was to Make Money, and there are a lot of pratfalls along the way that will defeat that goal if you’re not careful.

Learning how to use the free tools that come with your free membership helped me to create posts that people were looking for, but weren’t finding. I was able to fill a niche that no one else was working on, and that drove lots of traffic to my site.

Second – Wealthy Affiliate is not a get-rich-quick scheme (and in my experience, none of those work.)

Running a website takes work, and if someone is telling you otherwise, just run the other way. But if you’re willing to turn your passion into good, useful information for others, you’ll find your website teeming with activity before long. And with all those visitors comes a chance to make some dough!

Want to give it a try?

It’s easy. Just click this banner below and you’ll be taken to Wealthy Affiliate’s home page. You can sign up for a free membership and start your training immediately. If it’s not for you, you walk away and that’s that.

I suspect, however, that you’ll be as fascinated as I was with the whole process. I remember starting out one night, and by the next day, I had a website posted on the web! I posted several recipes, and even shared them with friends! It was fun. But it was just the beginning.

Now, several years later, I have dozens of recipes posted, and I get over 100 visitors to my site every day. And because of the ongoing training with Wealthy Affiliate, I now direct traffic to my site via Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest.

Which leads to reason number 3: Wealthy Affiliate is a growing community of professionals, experienced members, novices and newbies. The amount of information available is vast and up-to-date. You’ll learn all the rules and regulations as well as best-practices for running your website so as to maximize your profit.

Of course, they want to make money too. They’re confident you’ll appreciate your free membership and that you’ll want to continue to grow and learn, so they offer a premium membership with many more features. If you get to that point, you may want to give it a look. I’ve been a Premium member for over 3 years now, and haven’t regretted it.

But remember, your free membership is waiting, with all the training you need to get started today. Give it a try – you can always walk away if it’s not for you, and you won’t lose a dime.
